Joyce A. Laben, PhD, is a leading expert on the use of data for educational programming and decision making. As a school psychologist, special education coordinator, assistant principal and principal, she understands the challenges in the use of data. Dr. Laben has extensive experience in early childhood, elementary and the middle school levels. She has developed and researched a prekindergarten program which led to her being honored with the Winn Research Award. Her staff development workshops have been informative and provided strategies for teachers to implement the next day. Dr. Laben has conducted doctoral research on the dynamic skills protocol RTI model and predictive validity screener used for progress monitoring. She continues her work as a school psychologist for a special education cooperative.
